Peter Browne (left below, with Gerry Harrington)
Unfortunately, it now looks unlikely that Peter will be able to attend the event, but you never know!
Jerry O’Reilly (left below, with Rosie Davis)
… and more to be confirmed!
Also coming to the event are the director of the Irish Traditional Music Archive, Grace Toland and field recording officer Brian Doyle. They will be recording some of the events for the archive and may be persuaded to sing some songs while they’re here, as well!
Guests from England
Many people who knew and played with Julia in this area in the 1970s, 80s and 90s will be at the weekend, including Michael and Caroline Kilbane, Nigel Towse, George and Eileen Monger, Alan Block, Katie and John Howson and others to be confirmed. We will be joined by the wonderful Michael Sheehy, current local Sliabh Luachra musician in residence (unofficial title!). We’re also delighted to welcome Dr Reg Hall, Alan Ward, Peta Webb and others involved with recording and documenting Sliabh Luachra music on both sides of the Irish Sea. We very much hope that ace melodeon (accordion) player Tony Hall from Norwich will be dropping in at some point, although we understand that a knee operation may be rather inconveniently scheduled.
